Good evening all my VSG friends!! I am nervous and excited to start my two week pre-op liquid diet. I have done all my prep work and portioned out my yummie sugar free pudding, jello, broth etc. Got all my yummie protein shakes ready to go.

My husband is even going to do the liquid diet with me - he such an amazing husband so very supportive!!!

Can't believe surgery is just around the corner - crazy how fast time has flew by. I am so excited to start this journey...and join all you amazing individual's on the loser's bench.

Sending much love to all my VSG friends.

Love,

Shana

Good luck! And as you're slogging through it, remember it will be so much easier to eat like that immediately after surgery because you won't be able to hold much at all!

Good luck! It wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined it would be. Broth is a savior when you are eating/drinking so much sweet! That and cottage cheese if you are allowed (I was allowed 1/2 cup per day and I savored it!).

Thank you for the well wishes my friend!!

Day one - the broth that I had ugh - not so good. Any suggestions for a tasty broth?

I will have to ask my doctor about cottage cheese - I love that stuff.

I grew up eating Campbell's chicken noodle soup ... so what I've been doing is making a can of that and just drain off the broth and throw away the noodles. It might be a little wasteful ... but I know that I like it.

Hope it flies by for you and it's wonderful to have such a supportive husband.Mine is like that and it has really made this a more positive experience. He is always there cheering me on and there to listen when I have a bad day. Your positive attitude and his support will be a great foundation for your success.

I just bought Swanson broth in the grocery store. I liked chicken more than beef. Some programs call for low sodium, but I didn't do that because I was only doing about 8oz per day and everything else was so low sodium anyway.
