So it has been 8 months since I had my sleeve done. For those of you wondering if it is worth it, YES YES YES it is! I am so grateful that I had this surgery done.

I am down 93lbs so far. From a size 22 pants to 12, 3X shirts to L. I have had to get my wedding ring sized, lost a half a shoe size and moved my seat placement in my car 3 times! LOL. I feel freaking amazing. I am fascinated with all the changes taking place with this new me. I still can't reconcile my image in the mirror or pictures to the image of me in my head. I am told this is a slow process.

I am working hard exercising, training for a 5k what?!?!?! that is right, I am running a 5K next month who would have thought it!!!

You look amazing and so happy! Congratulations on your new life. That's funny about the seat placement. Mine is so far up now it's ridiculous.

Congratulations! And congrats especially on the running :D

My partner was/is a runner and, prior to weight loss, I'd always go to races with him to hold stuff and be moral support and the driver. I loved the race community. When I'd pick up his stuff at race expos, people would wish me, super morbidly obese me, good luck at the race. Everyone was so welcoming and wonderful. I also love that the race community isn't a competitive one. No one cares about beating you - they just care about beating their own best times or having a good race.

So I started running after my VSG and I did my first 5k 7 months after surgery. Three years after surgery, almost to the day, I did my first half marathon :D
