Struggling and feeling very apathetic.

I am a little over two years out. I am struggling with motivation. I've gained 16 lbs since October. I'm tired working nights, eating crap, and hitting the drive through. I need to stop eating junk. I am worth the time, money, and effort. I guess I am looking for my why. I am constantly emotionally eating. Uggh! Why can't I get this fat monkey off my back! Ok done venting. Time for a solid game plan of attacking this weight.

The honeymoon is over. Sorry. It sucks, and it happens to us all. Those first months, maybe a couple of years, it seems so easy. Magical. Then we get tired of bearing down. Stres****s. Boredom, routine. Habits we had for many years creep back in. We drift back to the dark side.

I have no magic answer. What I did was come here every day. Read. Post. It's like AA for me. I log my food. Just keep trying to figure it out.

I feel your pain, I was up 90 lbs in January. I was recovering from an Ankle Fusion and didn't work for 5 months, couldn't walk for nearly 4. I was up 60 before surgery gained 30 whilst I was off. I'm 9 years out now, the fight never stops. I'm down about 40 now but have a long road ahead of me.

Keep coming to the board for support, keep track of your food, try and keep moving more everyday. It'll come back off you can do it!

Well done and wonderful that you've put yourself on pause! I'm only 6 months in, so not a lot of experience but I know my doc said if I have a re-gain, put myself back to 800 calories a day with at least 80 grams of protein....however that looks to me.

Tracking helps! I sometimes don't want to, but I do even if its a not as good choice. Best to you! I know you'll get there

I know just how you feel! I'm struggling too. Take motivation out of the equation and make it as easy as possible for you to do what you know works for you. Don't bring food or money to work, keep yourself busy, take a different route to/from work that avoids the drive through, only buy/wear tight clothes. Do what you need to do. I'll take my advice and do it too!
