Even if you never had the opportunity to meet Pete or talk with him it was obvious by his postings and communications he loved to help others who were considering, having or had WLS. The WLS community lost a great leader and motivator in Pete. Pete will be remembered for helping many people through one of the most live changing decisions anyone can make. My sympathy's go to his family. Thank you for sharing this wonderful man with the world. Denice

I was deeply sadden by hearing of Pete's passing. He will be missed. I was so glad to see (by his pictures) he was truly happy & enjoying life. He has touch so many lives with his story, including mine. Rest in peace, Big Pete.

My sincere condolences to Pete's family. I am new to this site and never knew about Pete until after his passing but I have read many of the postings he had made and that others made to him. He was awesome!! A true believer in what he was doing and a great inspiration to me. After reading his profile I knew that I would be able to go thru with my WLS. AMOSionions have lost a great "loser" but his inspirations live on. God Bless Pete and God Bless his family :)

I am so very sorry to hear of the tragic loss of this wonderful man. My wife died from WLS 2 years ago. He read my story on my site and have been in touch with him periodically. I added him to my mailing list for A Husband's Journey, Inc., and he was so supportive of my efforts. May God bless you Pete. I know my beautiful Darlene met you at the gate of heaven, with her beautiful smile, and with open arms to guide you. May God bless Pete's family always.

When I first began my WLS journey, I found Pete's web site and was captivated by his story, his strength and success. I sent him an email to tell him how amazing I thought he was and to let him know what an inspiration he was to me. He sent me back the most encouraging e-mail that I will forever treasure. I had my surgery June 17, 2003 and was saddened to hear the news about Big Pete. To the Herida family -Pete was a marvelous human being who touch many lives. A true Angel. God bless you all for sharing him with us. I will keep you all in my prayers.
