Well, it's the New Year and I didn't have my surgery as hoped for, even though I expected not to...
I'm frustrated with the process somewhat. I went on 12/8/06 to get blood work done for my PCP visit (routine-diabetic care). He'd forgotten to add the H-pylori test, which checks for bacteria in the stomach. This meant that I'd have to go back to the hospital for another blood test!
Being the smart person I am (hahahaha), I call the lab to see if they still have my blood. They did. All I needed to do was get my doctor's office to call in the request for that particular test. I call and the asst. tells me she faxed in the request. Okay, so the next day I call lab to ensure the request's there...it isn't. I call my doctor's office again. The asst. insists she sent request, that the lab at the hospital has a "habit" of losing their requests, much to their frustration.
Needless to say, my doctor's office had to fax the request again. However, now I have to go back and submit blood again...I'm not happy about that and that's REALLY putting it as mild as I can. It's a new year and I have a new attitude (even as I grit my teeth writing this....)
Until next time...hopefully with better news
