7 Months Post Op

Well, on the 11th when we took my pictures I was down 69 lbs. Today the 13th I am down 72 lbs. I was going so slow as far as weight loss goes and it was depressing but kept telling myself, this is normal and will break soon. It did thank God. It was about a month, maybe 3 wks at the same weight.
Got my blood work done in Feb. Found out my thyroid is worse then before so had to increase my meds. I started taking them today, I hate the way they make me feel while I am adjusting. Jittery, I just want to go home and not have to think about anything or do anything. Just want to go to bed. I'm hoping its just my body adjusting. My vitamins are ok, just adjust a couple things but not real bad at all.
Anyway, I have felt great with the exception of the thyroid symptoms. I am so glad I did this. I am no longer a bump on a log and feeling like I am lazy.
We got a wood burning stove put in where our fireplace used to be. We are loving it and the hauling of wood is like a workout we have to do to have heat. We don't use our regular heat. I don't dread the gathering and hauling and carrying of wood since I count it as a workout. It forces me to do it. And since I love my heat, I gladly do it. My husband on the other hand, hates it LOL. He will get over it. He needs a little work out himself. LOL. Even in the Spring time, we are going to gather it and stock up for next season. We won't have to pay for it next year, we will be set. Free heat.
Anyway, that's all for now, I try to get on here and post here and there.
Love reading every ones updates and posts in the forums. :):):)
Pounds Vs. Percentages
Feb 21, 2013
It's not POUNDS, it's PERCENTAGES!
by Carolyn M.
Two people, both 6 months post-op. One has lost only 63 pounds and feels bad about her "slow" weight loss. The other has lost 96 pounds and thinks she's doing great.
They are both wrong.
Person A had only 105 excess pounds, so she has already lost 60% of her excess weight. She is actually ahead of the game at 6 months out and is on track to lose it ALL.
Person B had 265 excess pounds. At 6 months out she has only lost 36% of her excess weight. At this rate, she will end up retaining 28% of her excess weight, enough to keep her in the obese category.
See what I mean? Don't compare pounds to pounds, that's like apples and oranges.
Percent of excess weight lost: pounds lost divided by total excess pounds
Use a BMI of 25 as a goal weight
On track to lose it all is 25% lost after 2 months, 50% after 6 months, and 80% at one year.
Please note: These are averages. Your mileage may vary.

Well, sittng here bored on a Sunday. I am down 41 lbs. I never thought it would be possible, its like its a dream, I have come so far, I was so afraid before surgery, and almost backed out. I know my weight would have been the same if I had not had the surgery.
I see my doctor on Nov. 13th for my check-up. I love him, he has a great bedside manner.
I changed my avatar picture but it wound up stretched. Frustrating. I will try again later. I am done with it for now.
My sister, is getting her surgery in December and I am such a worry ward, I was so worried about mine, now if something happens with her, I will feel so guilty, I hope she has the same success as me so far.
Anyway, thats my update, I try to keep adding pics every month to show my progress. :)
I hope everyone is doing well.

I am down 28 lbs.
I am without pain now, finally. The pain I was feeling in my lower abdomin, has gone. Thank goodness. Doc was right, give it time. I am so glad it wasn't a hernia. I did not want to go through another surgery.
I am lovng all the posts, and reading all my friends weight loss and maintenance stories. I get to read them on my phone and SOMETIMES can post from my phone but mostly havent been able to. I have to be on a computer to post.
I also was not able to post a Blog on my profile without the computer so its been awhile.
Anyway, I am feeling really good and without pain for a change and just concentrating on my foods and getting my proteins in. :)
I havent figured out how to do my avatar, all my pics are too big. Also changing my ticker thing and I don't see it posting even though I see its checked off to post. Any advise on that would be appreciated.

I don't feel a thing except for this one pain, lower left abdomin, its below belly button but to left. I dont know if that is normal, I called the doctors office and guessing Doc wasn't in but spoke to my nurtritionist. She told me that a lot of ppl are different and have pains up to a month out of surgery. This feels like a pulled muscle, It kills me when I cough or sneeze, and I don't feel it, for the most part, when standing or walking, but getting up from sitting hurts, takes me a while.
I have an appt. on Monday, so Just trying to hang out till then, if it continues to be real bad, I will call again.
Anyone else have this pain?
The rest of my abdomin doesn't hurt, I wouldn't even of known that I had surgery.

My Surgery
Aug 07, 2012
The anesthesiologist didn't want to put me out without a cardiac clearance. I have chest pain due to my astma and lung issues when I exert myself...
So instead of having my surgery yesterday, I had to see the cardiologist for a clearance and he then wanted a ultrasound of the heart. :/ he said the ultrasound shouldn't hold up the clearance. I haven't heard anything yet but I believe they faxed it over. I am going to call the surgeon later today to make sure.
My primary should be calling me sometime today for the results of the ultrasound.
I am now scheduled for Aug. 9th. :/
I was ready on Aug. 6th!
Oh well, its still on.
