My name is Dani. I am 24 years old and I am morbidly obese. At my heaviest I was just shy of 500. Due to my weight, I have co-morbidities such as diabetes and high blood pressure. I also have a tendency to get these cellulitis bumps on my tummy which have caused me to be hospitalized twice--once in 2006 for 3 days and this last time in 2008 for a month(when i almost died). I have been heavy my whole life but when i was younger, i was active enough to keep my weight around 350. After high school I quit playing softball and started working and going to school, and while i was active i was not exercising enough and the weight just crept up. Now at about 440, I am currently waiting for my surgery date. I am excited for this lifestyle change because this body and this weight is holding me back from fullfilling my dreams of becoming a teacher, a wife, and a mother. I can't wait for this journey to begin and a new chapter of my life to start as well.
