Did that really just happen...?

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! So, yesterday was supposed to be the day I had been looking forward to for about a mth and a half. I took the day off & so did my husband. I was going to see a surgeon in Chattanooga, TN about 2 1/2 hrs away from my home. I was all excited and we left on time, giving us about a 20 minute cushion. My appt was at 3. We stopped for gas about 2 and we were about 35 min away. My husband looked at his watch & said he forgot that we had just went through a time zone & the time had changed. WTH?! I totally forgot the time went up an hour!!! I called them to explain and they didn't want to hear it. They said he was already behind and my appt was an hr long & he had a meeting at 4. All of that could NOT happen in an hour regardless. They wouldn't fit me in any kind of way. I had already driven for 2 hrs. I was CRUSHED!!! How could I be so stupid? I completely forgot I was switching over time zones and they were an hour ahead of us. I cried all the way home. Getting off of my job is a big deal. I wasted it. I thought about that appt everyday for about 45 days. Oh well. My update.
