I hate stalls!

Jan 16, 2013

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate stalls?! Well, this last one was from the 10th until today, the 16th and thank you LORD I finally broke my stall from 216 pounds down to 215. And, what's really crazy is when my weight bounces up during a stall...oh my goodness, I was seriously losing it! lol.

Hopefully the scale will be my friend again and we can be back on speaking terms and the weight starts to come off quickly again! :-)

Hugs, Love and LOTS of skinny thoughts,

Beth

Clothes Shopping!

Jan 05, 2013

My pre-op size was 24 pants and 3X top...

So, I went to the thrift store today to find some smaller sizes for the next couple of months. I bought 3 pair of 16's and 1 pair of 18 jeans. I also bought a cute top size XL. I knew none of it would fit me now, but at least I'd be ready when it did.

I got home and tried everything on. 2 pairs o the size 16 jeans actually fit, well, enough to zip them up! I don't have a "muffin top" with them either, but they are tight, especially through my thighs...I've always had big thighs. But, I couldn't believe I actually got them on! I am so stoked! The XL shirt I thought would also be too small, and I know it will look great in another 10-20 pounds, but it actually fits! I am so happy! The size 18's were too tight and so were one pair of 16's, could not get them over my big hips! I don't even care though, I am just so proud of myself. I actually squeezed my booty in some 16's!!

I also bought a new bra from Walmart, that has made a huge difference in how my tops fit me...my old bras were just getting way too lose and giving me ZERO support.

So, tomorrow I will be 4 months post-op!!!

Pre-Op my weight was 309! (My height is 5'8") BMI was 47
Current weight: 218, BMI: 33.1

Month 1: Lost 33 pounds, averaged 8 pounds a week

Month 2: Lost 21 pounds, averaged 5 pounds a week

Month 3: Lost 16 pounds, averaged 4 pounds a week

Month 4: Lost 21 pounds!!!, averaged 5 pounds a week!!!

Total Weight Loss: 91 pounds

I am so proud of myself! I have 9 pounds to go to hit the 100 pounds down mark and 19 pounds to go to hit ONEderland!!!

Protein Starved

Dec 22, 2012

Well, my hair is retaliating and falling out so incredibly much. Every time I take a shower or brush my hair, I lose a massive amount of hair. I haven't noticed it feeling thinner or looking thinner...I know many people who have much thicker hair than me, but I was originally blessed with pretty thick hair. I figure though it is only a matter of time before my hair starts to look thin.

I am not doing good at all on getting my protein in. I'm not giving myself a hard time on it, because I'm continuing to lose weight and take my vitamins everyday, but I do know that I really do need to be getting more protein in through my shakes.

Also, something that I realized post-op is that I am pretty sure I was pre-diabetic. I've noticed my eye site has gotten tons better...things aren't blurry like they were 3 months ago. I also don't get shaky if I don't eat every 2-3 hours. Before, I would definitely get shaky if I didn't eat several times throughout the day. So, I am so glad I avoided that health issue!

So, my stats are:

CW: 229!!!
3.5 months post-op.
80 pounds down
BMI 34.8

I am so incredibly proud of myself. I have had issues of eating too quickly &/or too much and throwing it up. This was seeming to happen about once a week, but I think it's only happened once in the past month...so I'm learning my new tummy and how incredibly small it is! I can go buy 1 taco, eat half of it for lunch and then, eat the other half for dinner. That is AWESOME!!!

I'm still eating laughing cow cheese wedges like they're going out of style and cashews. I eat a handful of chips once or twice a week. And, everyday I treat myself to a 16 ounce Dr Pepper slushie from RaceTrac. I drink 8-12 ounces of it. I know I shouldn't, but it's my way of "cheating" and still feeling like a did a great job with my nutritional intake! lol

Ok, well I hope everyone's journey is going great!

Scrambled Eggs

Nov 28, 2012

My 2.5 year old is in love with cooking scrambled eggs, so needless to say, we've been eating them much more often now....

3 eggs
3 slices of muenster cheese
1T of salsa (I like things mild)
3 slices of ham

= 3 bowls of scrambled eggs (with a dollop of daisy on top of each!) 1 for each of my toddlers and 1 for me

Louisiana Thanksgiving

Nov 25, 2012

Well, I got home yesterday from the Thanksgiving trip to Arkansas/Louisiana. It was amazing seeing everyone. I missed everyone so much!

My Grandmother recently went to a nursing home and my cousin is in the process of buying her house. I was able to get some clothes that she no longer wears from her house. I got one pair of size 16 jeans, 2 skirts and several tops. I also got 2 pair of boots and 2 pair of shoes. She was pretty stylish, so I'm excited about being able to wear them next year as I'm losing!

I reached my first goal today of 245 pounds! It was my goal because it is the smallest I've been as an adult. My ultimate goal is 160 pounds.

Well, I've got to go, but I thought I'd drop a note while I had a minute!

Hugs,

Beth

post-Thanksgiving Dinner #1

Nov 19, 2012

We had Thanksgiving Dinner (#1, my moms side) a few days early, on Sunday.

It was great seeing everyone!

Food aspect:

I initially ate about 1/4 cup of chicken and dressing.

Then, over the next 2 hours or so grazed on an additional 1/3 cup of chicken by itself.

It worked out great. And, then I had the same thing for dinner.

I have realized that my body does best with hamburger meat and tender rotisserie chicken. Those two meats go down easy and don't give me any stomach pain. Chicken strips and denser meats are still tough for me.

I do great with beans and ham too.

My day-to-day diet consists of: (and I know it's not what the doctor would love, since it's not 60+ grams of protein, but I'm currently happy with it.)

1/4 cup of unsalted cashews
1 slice of american cheese
1 or 2 laughing cow cheese wedges w/ 1 or 2 crackers each
8-12 ounces of a Dr Pepper slushie (RaceTrac)
1 gatorade
up to 6 chips a day, pringles or cheeto puffs
2 ounces of meat or beans (about 3 or 4 days a week)
about 4 bottles of water

and that sums it up

I heat up a Smart Ones frozen dinner when I want something different, but I can only eat 1/4 of it, so most of it is thrown out. But, if I'm just feeling like a hot meal, I'll do it. I always try to get the girls to eat some of it too, but they usually aren't interested. I do that about once a week.

If I want something sweet I'll make a protein drink, but I'm not doing those much anymore.

I'm pretty much on cheese, cashews and a few crackers and chips a day. I know, my doctor wouldn't like to hear that, but my body isn't complaining. I feel good and it's working for me right now.

I'm down 60 pounds, it's been 10.5 weeks since my WLS. CW: 249

I bought 1 shirt at the thrift store recently, but other than that, I'm just wearing my clothes baggy. I fit in all my "skinny" jeans that I had grown out of now. I'm about a 2X in tops and a 22 or 24 in pants. 20 if it's the right brand!

We're traveling to El Dorado, Arkansas on Thursday for my dads side of the family's Thanksgiving get together and I'm so happy about that! I haven't seen everyone in so long!

Hugs, Love, Skinny Thought and God Bless!!!
