I can't believe how my life has changed since the surgery.  My all time high weight was 330, pre-surgery weight 323, surgery weight 313, and I am now at 174 and still losing.  The process is becoming more challenging, but I am embracing it.   The most important advice from my surgeon has been that the surgery is only a tool, and how you use it makes all the difference. I have not touched sugar since 10/11, have followed the diet recommendations, taken my vitamins and regularly exercised.  Believe me, without this surgery, I would have never possessed self-discipline with regard to my diet and exercise habits. With over 30 years of failure under my belt, I am so thankful for this surgery.

At this point, I am really having to avoid processed foods and "bad" carbs, drink lots of water and regularly exercise to maintain a weight loss of 1-3 pounds a week.

I feel like a new me. I am now very active, social, productive and very very slowly becoming more confident.  Like most other weight loss surgery patients, I have body issues.    For the past few years, it has been unbearable to look at myself in pictures, but I am finally at the point, where I will allow a limited amount of photos.   Maybe I will even be brave enough to post some full body shots on this site.
