My story - well, how long do I have? :)  Anyone who's ever received an email from me knows I can be, oh lets be nice and say "detailed". Anyway...  My story is not much different from many others. I was a cute, chubby little girl who grew up to be a super morbidly obese woman.  Just expanding on that sentance alone could take hours.  In a nutshell, I heard about gastric bypass surgery when I was about 41 I guess, and eventually started seriously looking into it when I realized it was my answer to a life-long problem. It took a while to get insurance approval, but I did it and I had lap RNY on 10/13/05 at Mercy Hospital in Miami, performed by an amazing surgeon, Dr. Eddie Gomez, my hero.  The start was rough but I was soon on my way to an incredible year, not only losing "the weight" but finding myself, learning many new things about food and nutrition and exercise, and realizing I CAN have control over food.  Ok, so it took major surgery, but I did it, I'm here, I'm happy and healthy and I thank God every day for this surgery.  Monday Nov 13th I will be 13 months out and I've reached the goal that I set for myself, 145 lbs.  I'm starting to look into various plastic surgeries - tummy tuck (of course), losing the batwings, losing the turkey neck, lifting the girls and well, adding a little extra to at least be a B cup again!! Oh, and something surely can be done about these saggy, wrinkly thighs!  So that is my next journey and though it will be painful, I'm looking forward to it.

I do have two wonderful teenage daughters who supported me through all of this.  Of course now, if I mention anything relating to what size I wear, how much I weigh or my pouch they flip out a little, they've had enough of me and my surgery!  But they love me and I know that and they won't be teenagers forever, thank God.  I also have an amazing man in my life, again, my dear David. The David story is quite long too but I will be brief.  I met him when we were 18 years old, we fell madly in love, married at 21, totally blew it and divorced 11 months later.  Never thought I'd see him again, but my heart never let go and I  never forgot him.  Well, we found each other this past summer and actually, Christmas day this year we will be back together for 6 months!  He is the love of my life and my soul mate, of that I have no doubt. There is much detail of this in my old profile, which I am trying to get converted over to the new profile, but in the meantime there is one thing I feel I must speak of now as it may be confusing to those who don't see me on OH often.  My original OH name was Carol V.  I asked that to be changed to JeannePS recently.  My full name is Carol Jeanne, but my family never called me Carol, they have always called me Jeanne.  My children's father, who I married 5 years after David, was very bothered by this and insisted I go by Carol from that point on, and I did. I always preferred Jeanne, but to keep the peace I dropped it.  David came back into my life and one of the first questions he asked me was, why was I going by Carol?? So I explained it to him, and he immediately said he could  never think of me as a Carol, I was his Jeanne.  He related this name change that Anthony orchestrated as a way for him to change me into something he could accept, which was true, and essentially "lose" Jeanne.  David wanted me to find Jeanne again and I realized that is what I had been doing for the past year, and I was very happy to go back to JEANNE!!!!!!!!  Now the PS stands for Patterson, my maiden name and Scott, soon to be my new last name on the glorious day that I remarry my first love, my David!

So that is my story - so far!  With the grace of God there is much more to tell as this life continues.  I am very blessed, amazingly blessed with much love in my life, a wonderful family and good friends.
