Hi my name is Kanesha and I'm 28 years old. The very first diet I went on I believe I was like 9 or 10. My parents put me and my brother on slim fast well mostly my dad. I believe it was b/c after he married my mom and when I was 3 he had gained weight and ended up losing it. So he didn't want to see his kids go through it. My father passed away when I was 13 and if that wasn't hard enough 2 years later my brother was hit by a car on his bike and died. I continued to gain weight. Although in school I played Basketball and Volleyball so my weight didn't go up as much as after school. In college I did the Body for Life plan and went from a size 22 to a 14 in 9 weeks. Amazing, but I didn't continue and obviously didn't keep it off. The first time I heard about WLS was in like 2003. There was 2 women I worked with who had it. And it seems like every job afterwards someone else had it. Well last year in 07 my Avon lady Lori Ann from work had it and she told me all about it. Me and my best friend Jeff wife Teresa started talking about going for it. So we got the info on one surgeon and then a girl from my job had it from the surgeon I'm going to now and I seen she was having good results. One thing that drew me to Dr. Dibenedetto is that I seen his work and his follow up and pre-op diet plan is excellent. Me and Teresa went to our 1st informational 10/4/07 and my first appt was 10/31/07. I got approved to have Roux-en Y Lap gastric bypass 1/3/08. It took 24 hrs for my approval!!! During the pre-op testing I did find out I had sleep apnea so I got my CPAP machine. And to be honest I get a good night sleep so I'm not sleepy at work mid day due to a decrease in oxygen. My girl Teresa also got approved after me. Her surgery is 3/4/08 and mines is 3/10/08. I have less than a month and I will begin my new life. I'm so excited to be having WLS. I'm 28 and 266 Ibs at 5'4". So my 30's will be awsome in fact I get to finish my 20's being skinny. Well I wish you all luck in your quest to get healthy.
