My name is Demitra Hughes. I had lapband surgery on May 30, 2007. My highest weight (the morning after my surgery) is 367 lbs. My surgeon was Dr. David Geller in Louisville, Kentucky. It has been a year and 3 months since my surgery. My current weight is 252 lbs. My loss to date is 115 pounds. I'm not sure exactly what my goal weight is but I do want to be under 200 pounds. I'm thinking maybe 190. I'm not sure, i'll decide when I get there. I am so happy with the results I have achieved with my band. I notice new things about myself everyday. I have a 14 year old son. I began to gain weight after I gave birth to him. That was so long ago that I can't even recall being 165 pounds back then. Anyway, I feel like a brand new woman. I am truly blessed. I'm just recently beginning to realize how important it is to get connected with as much support as possible. I'm thankful that this support group is here. Bless all of you.
