I am a happily married 31 year old stay at home mother of 4 wonderful boys. My husband Salvador works hard and many long hours everyday to support all of us. My children are Joshua age 9, Jacob age 7, Noah age 2 years, and Nizaiah age 1. I have worked in the medical field since age 15, right up until I found out I was pregnant with Noah.

I have been overweight since about age 16 (gained approx 100 lbs in 1 yr) when my menstrual cycles stopped.  My pediatrician was unsure of the reason the cycles stopped but did call my mom and I into the office to discuss osteoporosis prevention stating I was in menapause at age 16.  Reluctant to believe this I wasnt compliant with medical orders and stopped the bcp.  At age 18 I started to see an Adult Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner who was able to start work ups on me when I was compliant, but at that age I didnt go in as often as I should have.  By age 20 I went for a routine physical and a few days later my doc called with lab results asked if I was sitting and continued to tell me my preg test was positive.  She said she didnt believe it and wanted me to go in for another blood test to be sure.  In the meantime I did 3 home urine test that were all + and the blood test also was +.  I had my 1st at age 21 (1999).  In summer of 2001 I was told I have PCOS and could never have anymore a few months later I was pregnant again and had my 2nd in June 2002.  By spring 2004 I was told I have insulin resistance.  All this time since age 16 I was told I will never have children, here I am at age 31 with 4 children, but I also have PCOS, IR, underactive thyroid, morbid obesity, amenorrhea.

These are the reasons why I decided in Feb 2009 to start my WLS journey.
