Welcome to my profile. I have had a long battle with weight gain/loss. I began gaining weight as a young child and reached 270 lbs before graduating from high school. My weight gain continued until I reaching a whopping 353 lbs during college. The day it all changed, I was at a doctors appointment and the nurse put me on a large animal scale to get my weight reading; I was mortified (my early 20's). I decided to do whatever it took to lose weight, and successfully I lost 175 lbs on my own.
Several years later, I went through a horrible depression and turned to food. I continued to gain weight and within 2 1/2 years I reached 327 lbs.
I decided to to the GBS just 3-4 months prior to my surgery. I had lost all hope and was struggling to move basically. I was tired constantly, had no energy, felt old...and guilty for not being able to have enough energy to keep up with my 2 year old. I was worried about my health and longevity since my father and several other family members had fatal cardiovascular events.
Well here I am, I've done it...and my life is improving everyday!
