Paula B.
I was not over weight my entire life. Throughout grade school I was your average weight child. Through most of High school I was average weight maybe slightly heavier than others but not much. Back in 1986 I was probably around 135 lbs. Then I was married in 1989 and probably weighed around 150. I had my first child in 1990 I gained about 35 lbs with the pregnancy. Lost a little of that weight then got pregnant with the second child and delivered in 1992 I gained about 60 lbs with this pregnancy and never lost the weight. It had been down hill since then. Gradually my weight just kept climbing until I reached my highest weight of 335 lbs. Diets did not work, I was always hungry I would loose then gain it all back plus some. This type of surgery never crossed my mind but then I went to my gyno for yearly exam and she asked me if I ever considered this type of surgery I told her no and that was the end of it. Then I saw my family doctor for a check up and this was only 3 weeks after the gyno appointment and my family doctor asked me the same question and said I was a prime canidate for the surgery. Now I began to think. If 2 doctors suggested this within a months time God is trying to tell me something. So I called the Reading Hospital Weight Management Center and signed up for the seminar and here I am today scheduled for surgery.
