I'm Amie, I'm a 45 year old wife, RN and mother to 2 boys, 18 and 19 years old. I have a cat, dog and parakeet in the family, also. While I've been overwieght all my life, it's just been in the past 5 years or so that my size has hampered my lifestyle. I have always been very active and positive, but now I'm not. Just like everyone out there, I could list over a dozen diets, good, bad and dangerous that I've been on. I start them motivated, do every thing I'm suppost to, a star loser. Only, I fall off the wagon at some point and gain what I lost usually plus 20 lbs. So that's how I've woke up at 45 and weigh 332 at 5'11".
I always said I would not resort to weight loss surgery. I've been "lurking" on this web site for years, though, intrigued. I kept coming back and watching others succeed and meet goals and live a normal life.
The last few months, WLS has been on my mind. I am not getting any younger, my lifestyle has been more and more altered by my size. The largest size in the Lane Bryant store fit snug and I look like awful, so sloppy. My blood pressure is out of control even with meds and I know if I continue diabetes is not far away. I have no physical endurance.
So, having said all that, I now see that WLS is an option I should consider. A tool to help me.
