Peter O'Brien

"I seriously only saw Dr. O'Brien for maybe 10 minutes tops! He was very nice and actually humorous, which I didn't expect after reading reviews about him. He asked if I had questions and what not. He seems like he knows what he is doing and is just straight to the point. Which I don't mind at all. I did meet with his nurse Pam for at least 20 minutes though and she went through everything with me, even down to showing me the lap band. She was very informative and pretty much told me everything I needed to know about the surgery. She went through all of the risks and the procedure. I also got to meet with Jodie J. the insurance lady and she was super nice! She also was very informative and helpful. They are all very nice and very helpful! I think Dr. O'Brien will be an excellent surgeon. I have only heard great things about him and have alot of faith in him. I think he will do a great job! He has alot of surgical competence when it comes to Bariatric surgery. He was even the first surgeon in South Dakota to introduce the Gastric Lap Band (which I am having done!). They also send you home with lots of informative packets and they even sent me a video in my email telling me all about the surgery, risks, pre op and post op. Everything I needed to know was covered! rnrnThey also offer many support groups that meet monthly there. They also have information events there. They have everthing from insurance support groups down to specific Bariatric surgery support groups.rnrnOh and just for the record - When I was registering at the front desk, I was so overwhelmed and nervous I ended up breaking down and crying. The two people at the desk were wonderful, they cheered me up and motivated me. They told me that I have made it this far and I will be a brand new person after this! They even gave me kleenex :) haharnrnThe whole experience was good and the staff is wonderful! I am excited to have my surgery there! I have full confidence in Dr. O'Brien."
