Kick start weight loss post pregnancy
Nov 24, 2015
Can't find any info on this topic so I'm hoping for some feedback from anyone who has been thru this.
I had VSG back in 2013 and I just gave birth via C-section 6 weeks ago. I'm having difficulty jump starting the weight loss. I have 20+lbs to lose and I'm trying to see how other people have gotten back on track after having a baby.
Im also breastfeeding which is making me hungrier than normal. So if anyone has ideas on what to snack on during these times of tons of hunger after breastfeeding I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks in advance.
Concerned About Total Food Intake
Dec 12, 2013
I am 3 weeks post op, during surgery I also had a hernia repair which was unexpected and extremely painful post op. Anyway, it has been extremely difficult to get any food down although i am just at the soft food (pureed) stage. However, suddenly last night I was finally able to get significantly more down. I could typically onmly get 3-4 teaspoons of food down but last night I was able to nearly triple that! This morning while having my routine protein shake I was able to drink 1/2 of the 11 oz. container which was impossible for me to get down a few sips prior to that. All that being said, I am actually nervous that I will not continue to lose at the rate which I have been since surgery. Did anyone else go through this overnight change? I was told that my VSG is a 40F bougie, which can only hold about 2 ounces...is it possible that it may have stretched already?
Confused or just anxious?!
Oct 24, 2013
So this is my first official post! My surgery date is set for Nov 20th and I am both anxious and excited and also confusing myself on what I can/can't eat.
I think going to my pre-op class yesterday really set things in motion for me. They say to eat a reduced diet for only 2 weeks pre-op but many people have done liquid diets for 4 weeks pre-op. So I am a bit confused as to what to do. I definitely would like to loose some weight pre-op and reduce any complications as much as I possibly can, but apparently theres no need for a full liquid diet just yet.
I am trying to get myself very prepared for the days/weeks post-op. I dont want to run into any confusion as to what to eat and how much. I am just overwhelmed with all the information out there. I'm also scared that I wont lose enough...
OVERWHELMED AND CONFUSED...GUIDANCE NEEDED
