It has been a long time since I have come back to this site. In the time I have been gone, I had tummy tuck surgery and I had my bad breast augmentation fixed. All of that was done by a wonderful plastic surgeon named Dr. Degnan in Walnut creek Ca. That surgery was done in July of 2005. I researched this Dr. on line and had two consultations with him at no expense to myself. He really knew what his business was and had many pictures to prove his fine work. I did have to pay for these expenses myself, but it was worth it. To this date I have gained back 25 lbs in the 7 years since I had the RnY surgery. Personally, if I had to do it over, I would go with the new lap band because it is less invasive and you can monitor it and fix the stomach expansion if it occurs. Medically, I have had trouble with my B-12 absorption. So my PCP has put me on a self shot once a month. That seems to be helping. I have had extensive tests done on my iron levels. I am still low. He has put me on liquid iron drops. We are still monitoring that. For some reason most pills don't absorb right. I am blessed with a great PCP, Dr. John Coe in Redding. He has followed my progress all the way and is always there to do any tests that need to be done to get to the bottom of my symptoms. On a personal note, I am a newly wed, I married my husband Chris on March 22, 2008. My new last name is Peterson. It has been a wild journey for sure and not one that I would have ever thought would turn out like it has. I feel that because of the weight loss, I am able to live a normal life. Work, play and enjoy, more then I ever would have been able too before the surgery. In July I was able to take a trip of a life time to Ireland. This was our honeymoon. I was able to hike and walk long ways that I wouldn't have been able to do before. I was able to see some of the most beautiful sights from the top of castle steps, more then 100of them! Walk lush green golf courses, and site see to my hearts content. For all of this I am grateful. One last thing, my cholesterol levels are great! If I can figure out the picture thing I will try to update that too.
