2nd Lap Band Fill Today 7/15/09

Jul 15, 2009

Had my 2nd fill done today. After the first fill on June 15th, I was disappointed. My appetite came back three days after the fill. I have had no restrictions for the last month. I could still eat a full plate of food without problems. With that in mind I was prepared today to request 4cc be placed in my 10cc band. I already had 2cc in there and I was certain with an additional 4cc I would hit my "sweet spot" or be in the "green zone". Well, the FNP instilled 2.5cc and told me to sit in the lobby and sip on some water to see how I do. As I sat in there sipping on water I felt as though the water was just sitting there at my throat and wouldn't go down. I got up and walked around thinking if I stood up maybe that would help it go down. No change. I got to thinking, man, I wouldn't mind keeping it were it is. This would surely allow weight loss to kick in. I figured the reason the water was taking so long to go down was due to some swelling in response to the extra constiction of the band. I figured it would go down eventually. Well, nothing changed. I began to worry about the fact that I will be working the next four days, twelve hour shifts. If I had complications it would be difficult for me to take off to go back in and have an adjustment. I came to my senses and requested some be taken out. She only took out .5cc and what a difference that made. I've been sipping on liquids throughout the day without problems. I'm so excited about this fill. I believe with this fill I will finally start getting the weight off. I weighed 217 with the first fill and 213 with the second. I told my FNP that hopefully the next time she see's me I will have lost 10-15 lbs. She said it will probably be more than that. That gives me so much encouragement. I can hardly wait. Of course I have to continue watching what kinds of foods I eat and how much I eat. I have to also start exercising. I found this website called coolrunning.com and there's a "couch to 5k" program that will train me to get into a jogging routine. I'm sure with the jogging, eating right and eating less , the weight will fall off. Look out little black dress. Here I come.
