Calories we need to survive

I was looking at a thread from Lindsey C and she found a great website http://caloriecount.about.com/   so in it it says to eat 500 -1000 cals less per day than you actually use.   It suggests you shouldnt go below 1200 and it gives you details of when you should reach your goal weight..  So mine would be Feb 2010 losing 1.5 lb per week.    Hoping it will be sooner if I do well, any how, I found on their site in their tools section a daily calorie expenditure based on height age weight and activity level and apparently I use 1980 cals a day so if I am eating around 800 - 1000 I should be losing weight. as that takes me to the 1000 less a day than I need.  I am going to be interested to see how my weight loss does on these numbers.

Just thought I would pass it on as we all seem to ask these questions,
