Morning! Heading into the office soon for a long day of zooms :/ I am looking forward to getting out of this pattern of going in just to sit on the computer, but I've got another few weeks to get through before I have the time to tromp through the campus to meet people in person.

In other less than ideal news, my GERD is out of control again. But this time I have been keeping up with the PPI, so I don't know what else I can do (except cut out coffee, but...). I woke up several times last night literally choking on acid and this morning my throat feels like it's burning. So yucky.

QOTD: Have you ever been to a black tie event that is not a wedding or prom? Grim and I have noticed a big uptick in Hallmark Movies that involve going to a "ball". They are often renaissance balls, which also feels very specific. Anyway, other than a few black tie weddings, I have never been invited to a ball, and now I am feeling a little left out.

I feel terrible this morning and I don't want to think about food but since I will be out of the house all day with no breaks to get out, I will pack up a bunch of things and hope it stays down. GERD really sucks because it makes you simultaneously hungry and nauseous.

  • protein coffee
  • egg & cheese
  • chicken wrap

Good morning QJB and menuers,

I'm sorry about your GERD. That's not a fun place to be. I know the burning feeling and can empathize with you. Hope some food works today for you.

Last day off post eclipse. It was totally worth being in totality and I would chase it again. The reaction when the lights went out was amazing and we had over four minutes to enjoy it.

I spent an ungodly amount of time on self care yesterday. My skin is as moisturized as it will get. It's nice to do once in a while.

Heading out for OTF in a few. The classes are kicking my butt and it's just what I need right now. I love having instant performance results.

QOTD- yeah but mostly for work. Once for ballroom dancing. I don't care for dress up though.

Menu today is protein bar after the gym, yogurt with granola, eggs with salsa and cheese, black bean burger with mustard and cheese.

Cheers!

Good morning and happy MID WEEK! We are getting through it and the weekend is getting closer! Maybe when you meet with your new GP, they will have some options for the GERD for you, different med maybe?

I also am office bound today, it's one of those days where I have to get an early start, do a mix of F2F and virtual meetings, drive home while listening in to a call and then do several hours of additional virtual meetings....and after that I will get to summarize all my inperson meetings this week. But happy to get home during an off time so my commute is 40 minutes not over an hour. I saved a new pilates jump class for tonight so I have something to motivate me to workout when I finally do log off. I so prefer morning exercise.

Dinner yesterday with my friend was good but the restaurant was underwhelming; I have a ton of pulled chicken and hot links for dinner tonight but going to have to doctor it up if I eat it.

QOTD - yes, we had a very fancy Millennium Party, black tie, multiple bands, ice sculptures, oxygen bar, etc. They also used to do a formal night on our reward trips but eventually realized a costume night went over better so I've done 2 formal and 1 costume at those. It's always fun to see people out of their element and all dressed up.

menu today

coffee plus half and half X3

cottage cheese

apple, cheese stick

possibly left over chicken/sausage, possibly not.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

I read plates jump class and I had all sorts of questions until I realized it's Pilates. I still have questions but not as excited as if it was jumping with plates.

Pilates jump classes are my favorite Pilates classes! Very good cardio plus the resistance. Essentially it's a lot of jumping jacks, jump squats, etc but you do them horizontal so not hard on the knees

Your version of jumping jacks and jumping squats are so much more civilized. Last night my trainer had me do jump squats (on the ground, standing up) for a whole minute. I really thought I was gonna die.

My jumping days are over. I can do about a half a squat now. That's as far as my knees will go.

I find a lot of those "combo" cuisine restaurants like that - as well as restaurants that have enormous menus. They try to do too much and don't really do any of it all that well.

I don't usually find that. Fusion cuisine can be very exciting, this one just wasn't.

Morning gang. Getting ready to bring QJB to the train shortly. It's supposed to be nice, so I think today is yard work day. Fertilizing the lawn (which still isn't close to needing a mow), and vacuuming out the leaves from the flower beds. Next week could be getting some flowers for the patio planters.

QOTD: I have never been to a ball. If any of you are thinking of having a Ball -- and inviting me -- it's probably best for both of us if you don't. I'm really not Ball people. If you're thinking of having a picket line, or even a riot, please pencil me in. I could get on board with looting, under the right cir****tances. But not a Ball.
