Smoothies!

Hey all!

I am having a hard time getting all my calories (not protein) in with solid foods and my NUT suggested that I try smoothies. She told me 1 cup soy milk (because I am lactose intolerant), 6oz greek yogurt, and a 1/2 cup fruit.

I tried it with vanilla soy milk and yogurt and frozen mangos. I dont know if it is the tangyness of the yogurt or the mangos but I dont really like it.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recipes for smoothies that are about 200 calories or so?

THANKS

you could try. strawberries, blueberries, banana, cherries or pineapple.  Those fruits usually make good smoothies. I usually use strawberry and banana if i do smoothies.

The calories with the soy milk and yogurt is 180, can you add some of the sugar free syrup(zero calories), or add some sugar free jello powder to the mix for flavor (10-20 calories).

Maybe you could try frozen mixed berries and splenda.  The tangyness comes from the greek yogurt so it will never taste like Jamba Juice....mercy

Boo! I guess I was hoping for something that would taste like Maui Wowi or Jamba Juice or Orange Julius... I guess I just have to experiment.

I add a packette of artificial sweetner to my shakes as I use a product that doesn't have flavor and I used unsweetened almond milk so it needs a punch to it.  Sometimes I add some flavoring to my shakes.  If you are looking for an orange julius type bang to it try adding a packette of orange crystal light to the mix a few ice cubes and blend well.
