I was sleeved on April 11.  I am only down 16.5 pounds.  It seems like everyone else is having faster weight loss.

I am writing down everything that I sip (no eating as of yet) and it isn't very much.

What am I doing wrong??????

Can I ask what you were expeecting??

I'm not quite sure how much more you could possibly lose...1.5lbs per day is pretty rapid weight loss.

good point.....I admit that I felt good about it until I noticed that other people were loosing weight faster.  and my husband made the comment that he could not tell I had lost any weight yet.  ( he has never had a weight problem and I hope that when he gets to heaven he is FAT).

Lots of people lose weight pre-op and when the loss is listed, you might get the impression that people are losing more postop.  I lost 25 pre-op.  The 10 or so additional pounds came after my surgery on April 6th.  Trust me, you are losing fast.  As for not telling, the simple fact is that it will take at least 50 pounds before a loss is really noticeable.  I lost 35 and it is barely noticeable.  No stress.  All good things come in time.

16.5 lbs in less than 2 weeks??? That's amazing!

The only thing you are doing wrong is comparing yourself to others.

Stop that and you'll be fine.

You're doing fine! You probably actually lost more (the weight you gained from the IV fluids - that can be another several pounds).

I had surgery on the 9th and haven't lost much yet. That said, when I saw my doctor, he said not to worry and that when I had surgery, they added about 10 pounds to my weight with all the fluids they gave me. It took about  a week before I started seeing any weight come off.

Also, don't compare yourself with others. Some of the big loses you're seeing are folks who may have more to lose or a higher weight than you to begin with. I'm amazed that you're losing 1.5 lbs a day. That's great work!

I was more than 4 weeks out before I could notice a difference. I have lost a lot of weight so far, but just NOW going down one pant size. Your body is swollen. It will take some time... but if you are anything like me, you will wake up one day and look in the mirror and there it will be a noticeable change.
