Oh my my.. I swear I feel like a school girl!! I have my first date since surgery... 7 weeks ago.. omg I am nervous. Of course he wanted to have dinner so I guess appetizer menu? I hope someone can help with what options to eat. It's at Macaroni Grill.. Yes pasta. which I don't really crave so maybe a salad? I am a bundle of nerves!!!

Ceasar Salad with grilled chicken, dressing on the side. Or house salad with balsamic and olive oil.

Eat 1/4 and take the rest home.

NO BREAD!

Especially at Macaroni Grill, the bread and olive oil...mmmm! I am going to miss it. But keep chanting your mantra. No Bread No Bread No Bread.

I'm excited for your date! I have no idea what you should eat. My instinct was soup when I saw the place but I agreed with the writer above: NO BREAD! :) Have fun and report back!!

CONGRATS! Remember...this is about the date and joining the world again as a whole new you. The food is a tiny part of that. I remember centering my social events around food and even determining if they were worthwhile based on the food. I am in the process of learning not to do that. It's not about the food...enjoy the companionship, etc. Have FUN. The food'll be fine, soup would probably be a great option.

I second the soup idea. I tend to choose soup when eating with people who don't know about my surgery- I can eat more soup than I can "regular food" and I feel like it makes me look more normal and helps to avoid questions about my eating. Just look for something healthy-ish...  no cream soups or anything too loaded down with pasta... and enjoy yourself!
