I am wanting to get better about tracking my food.  I have used paper journals (cannot spend time looking up the stats of all that basic food, like celery...), and tried both My Net Diary and My Fitness Pal on my iphone, but would love recommendations on online or app store trackers you have used and liked.  I want to be able to track my carbs, and my exercise, but not be reminded to eat more cause I have not gotten up to the 1400 calorie limit the system set for me...  any thoughts??

The myfitnesspal is also online and will sync to what you upload to the phone app.  At least it does for my droid app and I think my iphone friends have the same thing going on.

1400 calories?  In weightloss really?  Good luck...

I agree. I use MFP and set my own goals. Search their help (or just google a question like "how do I set custom goals in My Fitness Pal") and put in what your surgeon advises. I can access it on my PC, at work, on my ipad and phone. Phone is the worst since it's small, but it's fine for when I need it. I printed reports of calories and protein the other day and took to my first follow-up visit with my surgeon, it helps a lot. I also love that I can scan barcodes. I even put in my vitamins.

It works if you work it; it sorta works if you sorta work it; and it doesn't work if you don't work it.

My Fitness Pal, greatest tool out there that I know of. You can change the limits. I set mine to 800 calories, 40 carbs, 90 protein, 24 fiber. Go under I think its Food and Goals or maybe it is diary and goals. But to change it is a Goal setting and then your MFP will be more apt to what you are doing.

I love it also, and did the same, set my goals for me.  I will say the only thing that annoys me is that when I add exercise it adds back calories to my daily plan; and I'm thinking.. HELLO.. I want to lose weight, I'm not going to re-eat the calories I burned off... DUH.   and I love how everyday when I complete the log in, it tells me "You are not eating enough food..."  HA.. love it!

MyFitnessPal or Fitbit are both good choices.

I will chime in on MFP also. Its a great tool.

***I take pictures of my food when I don't have time to track at the moment and can accurately track later....just FYI.

I have a Fitbit and I synced it to my Myfitnesspal account,  so MFP is automatically tracking my exercise without me having to put it in.   True that it does add back calories for the exercise but you can just ignore them.    I think both work together great.   Plus I love that I can scan barcodes with the iPhone app (makes it easy to add new foods to your lists),  and i love that I can save custom foods.
