So, I was sleeved on 11/13 and have had pretty good success.  So far I am down 50 lbs and doing good until last week.  While working out at the YMCA, I got off of a weight machine and passed out.  I hit my head and stopped breathing.  I had to receive chest compressions and they used the paddles on me to get my heart to start again.  I was rushed to the hospital.  I had every conceivable test ran on me and all they have figured out was that my potassium was extremely low and my blood levels were low.  I had blood drawn that morning for my checkup with the surgeon.  I even had to have a blood transfusion.  I still can't remember 2 days from last week and probably never will according to the doctors.  My poor husband has been beside himself...they were asking him questions such as if I had a DNR or living will.  They thought I would have brain damage since I went without oxygen for so long.

Needless to say, I am home now and go back this Thursday to see if I am cleared to go back to work and drive.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought something like this would have happened.  I'm just glad it didn't turn out worse than it did.  Lesson learned...make sure you take it easy when you give tons of blood!

Wow! I'm so glad to hear you are ok! Sounds like it's time to rest for a few days now.

Wow!!  Thank God!!  I'm so happy things have turned out for the best.

My potassium got pretty low too. Not that low though. I would feel a little off. So, now I eat a banana everyday!!  Exercise depletes your potassium, and then if you take a diuretic (water pill) that reduces it even more.

Take care of yourself!!

Thank God you were in a place with a lot of people and not home by yourself. And people who knew what to do to resuscitate you. I am sorry this happened but so glad you are okay now. Make sure your doctor keeps an eye on your potassium and hemoglobin levels. If you feel anything weird in the future, no matter how small, get to the doctor or the ER whichever is appropriate.
