Can I hurt myself coughing?

I am 6 weeks post op. I have gotten a cold and have a dry cough.

Can I hurt my sleeve with the coughing? My staple line. I hold my stomach when I cough and I feel pressure, so was just worried.

For the most part no. Your actual stomach should be pretty much uninvolved in the coughing process. That is mostly abdominals and lungs. I just finished 3 weeks of coughing and had no issues. I was vomiting while still in the hospital and didn't do any damage so you should be ok.
