Please refer to last week's forum discussion basically equating Quest bars to candy bars.  Thereby making them bad choices.

I've actually been giving that discussion quite a lot of thought this last week. The one thing that sticks with me is a comment you made about your general experience with them..that they address a protein need but don't have the satisfaction factor that a fresh dense protein does (in my case ahi tuna). I decided to really pay attention to that this past week and ..here are everyone's three favorite words..You Are Right   They fill a need but not for as long as a dense protein would have.

I've demoted them from a fairly regular routine (they were easy to grab if I was being too lazy to cook) to keeping one in my purse or car "just in case". They travel better than string cheese LOL

Thanks for all the tough love. I like a no nonsense approach and the vets on here always deliver.

Respectfully, my surgeon gave me the explicit thumbs-up on Quest bars as an "OK choice" in addition to the meat/cheese/etc. I eat daily as I still have difficulty hitting my protein goals.

If in doubt, ask your personal surgeon/nutritionist/medical team.

Thank you for posting this.  I read them and I have a fresh perspective on it.  I can't really afford them at even the best price anyways lol

My pleasure.  I thought both discussions were thoughtful and a bit different.  I can see an approach building around the opposite of "convenience" and "fast" food... slowing down, being mindful, etc. about our food should help us a lot in our battle.

I've read lately that those quest bars aren't accurate on the nutritional information.  I haven't been brave enough to try one yet, but my wife loves some of them.

Here's the lawsuit information on the nutritional labeling issue.
