Update and bad news... (xpost)

May as well rip it like a band-aid. I am 10 weeks post-op today. I have lost a total of 55 pounds. I feel good, and I'm starting to look good as well. I'm exactly halfway to my goal (55 lost, 55 to go).

Bad news: I received my labs today. I have CANCER. Specifically, invasive ductal carcinoma. I go on the 27th to the cancer institute of the hospital to discuss lumpectomy and radiation, then on the 28th with the surgeon to discuss either lumpectomy or mastectomy. Decisions, Decisions. They said that I have a good prognosis, and that it's not terminal.

If it ain't one thing, it's another, huh?

42 y/o, 5'7", HW 289, Start Weight 280. SW 264 on 3/7/14. Diagnosed w/IDC 5/16/14.

OMG - I'm so sorry! I hope your appointment at the institute goes well. I hope they can clear it up completely.

Seriously. I am so sorry to hear this. That your doctors say it's not terminal is such a relief, I bet, but I am also sure you won't believe it until you see it.

I'm so sorry surgisister! I think I recall you saying you had cancer before? Brca + or something-maybe I'm imagining it.

You seem like an extremely strong lady and I am sure you will get through this
