panera

I almost always bring my lunch to work or eat what the kids are eating, but today I had to leave work in the middle of the day for a doctor appointment,  so I stopped at a panera next door to his office to pick up lunch. I was trying to think of a smart choice.  I've been trying to get my protein in, it's been harder these past few days because I'm just getting sick of shakes. I know from before that if I eat a sandwich the bread will just fill me up too fast. The obvious choice is to just eat the inside of the sandwich but that's no fun lol. Anyway I noticed they have new flatbread sandwiches so I got the Thai chicken one. It has hummus in it so maybe that would boost the protein?  Anyway it was good...I ate mostly just the inside. I wi**** would have had more chicken in it though. Anyway what does everyone like at panera?  Also feel free to share any ideas for lunch at a fast food place.

check out my blog!

While I was in liquids, I loved the soups.  :)  But post-op, I've gotten the turkey chili once, which was great but they don't have it every day.  I've also ordered salads without the lettuce and without the croutons or wonton strips, depending on the salad.  You can also get the tuna or chicken salads just in a bowl instead of on bread, and those are both good, tasty options.

They're super flexible, so it's fairly easy to cobble together something that's compliant :D

In the summer I LOVE their Strawberry Poppyseed and Chicken Salad.  It's 350 calories and I can never eat it all.  I have it like once a week during the summer.

I haven't had the surgery yet, so my opinion may be null, but I like Subway Club salad with double meat, no cheese and fat free Italian dressing. I also like Panera Greek salad with Grilled chicken.

I always get the half salad, whichever one strikes my fancy that day.  They are usually under 350 calories including the dressing.  If your capacity is small, you can eat the goodies and leave the lettuce!

I usually get soup.  Since my surgery, salad doesn't agree with me.

I travel a lot so I have to eat out frequently. I eat at KFC a lot when I travel. I will get a grilled chicken thigh and green beans. I also like Genghis grill.

I like a lot of the soups from Panera and the tuna is good too.

I had the Southwest Chicken Flatbread last time I was there.  I also just ate the insides and expected there to be more chicken!

I was disappointed when I went there and they didn't have the steak salad any more.  I don't go there very often but the steak salad was something I enjoyed.
