Question about dehydration
you need to drink more , you need to tell us when you had surgery so we know how to answer you
if you have not been drinking close to 65 oz of water for a few days you need to call your surgeon
you may need to get an iv
symptoms of dehydration are dark pee, dizziness, nusasia, dry skin, dry eyes
symptoms of very bad dehydration (someone should drive you to the ER) no pee ,passing out ,fever , clammyness
you should not. Be getting out walking and sweating if you are only getting. 30 oz of water a day. That is. Not even enough for winter time. You will be passing out soon on a walk if you cants increase it. Soon.
why is that all you can drink? Are you sipping all the time? I. Mean, every minute having a drink in your hand. At almost 3 weeks out you should be able to. Drink more than 30 oz a day.

Right after surgery I was only able to drink 1oz every 30 minutes so what I did to try to stay hydrated was rotate between water and Powerade Zero. So at 8am I would have 1oz of water, at 8:30am I would have 1oz of Powerade Zero, at 9am water, 9:30am Powerade Zero and so on. I set a reminder on my phone for every 30 minutes so I wouldn't forget. I would also have sugar free popsicles.
64oz is your minimum goal right out of the gate, and it's some seriously hard work. The only way I managed is by sipping ALL of the time. I would sip when I thought about sipping. I would sip before I did anything and sip again when I was done. When watching TV. I would sip during commercials, etc. I made up drinking games without alcohol.

I told my surgeon last at my 2 week post op visit I was sipping constantly and she threw a fit, saying I would rupture my sleeve! So I stopped and now I'm more confused than ever. I want to drink more, I really love water, but she scared me about rupturing my sleeve, so I'm barely getting 30 oz in now. I really can't exercise if I can't have more water. Don't know what to do.
This seems very odd to me. I've never seen anyone post that their surgeon said not to sip. I'd never recommend ignoring a surgeon's advice... but this might be advice worth ignoring. Since it's so contrary to what every other surgeon, NUT, and post-op has experienced.

I'm five days post op and have the same concern. I just sip ALL DAY LONG. I feel like I have too much liquid in my tiny tummy, but it's better than being dehydrated.
Popsicles have been a good way for me to get in some more too. I'm trying to avoid sweating at all. It is WAY too hot to be outside so I am just walking around my house. Good luck.
