Needing guidence as I'm feeling lost.
I am almost 4 years post-op and I know I should have this all figured out but sorry to say I don't. I had a 10 pound regain and I've been fighting since november to get it off.
I usually eat around 900-1200 calories depending on the day and my protein levels are good. I exercise just about everyday, some weeks I might have a rest day or a day when my activity level isn't as intense. As of lately I'm feeling all OCD about this weight gain. I'm very fixtated on the numbers on the scale and would have loved to reach a normal bmi which meant i'd have to be below 146.
I am terrified of gaining more weight and I know that I now need to get back the control I use to have. It's just my head says one thing but my body does another. It's like my body has gotten extra cozy where it's at.
Any and all sugesstions are welcome from new and old sleevers. Thanks in Advance.

I am not an old sleever but an old RNYer. I think being OCD about weight is a good thing for us. We did not become obese by being OCD about the scale. I still weigh daily and get upset about any gain and ecstatic about any loss.
The difference between 900 and 1200 calories a day is about 1/2 pound a week. If I stick to 900 then I normally will see the scale go down 1 pound at the end of a week. I maintain 136 pounds at 1400 calories a day. I track every bite on My Fitness Pal.
Staying at 900 takes a lot of planning and determination, but if you do it every day for about three months the ten pound gain should be gone.
Exercise is great and wonderful but makes no difference at all for me in what the scale says. Right now I am at 2 hours a week a****er aerobics and an hour of walking or line dancing every day. It keeps me active and in shape but does not take off any pounds.

Are you seeing a therapist? OCD is a pretty serious mental issue and really needs to be treated appropriately.

I'm not clinicially labeled OCD it's just my way of emphizing how concerned I am with my weight gain. I actually went through a program for 18 months with doctors, nurses, nutritionist and a physocolgy team. All clear from their point of view. I didn't need any additional counselling as all my testing went well, no actual ADD or OCD.

It's pretty inappropriate to throw "OCD" around as shorthand for "really concerned about something." It's a serious mental illness that deserves to be treated as such and not minimized and trivialized in such a manner.
That said, if you are finding yourself very concerned about your weight gain, talking with a therapist might still help regardless of what your program cleared you for.

Sorry you feel it's inappropriate for me to "throw" around OCD as shorthand. I actually work in human services and deal on a daily basic with people who have OCD, ADD, ADHD, FASD along with disabilities and mental illiness, most of my client have duel diagnosis. So with that being said I will tell you through all my training and education that we all possess the ability to be OCD when it comes to certain things in our lives. Have you ever been comsumed with something so bad that it's on your mind day and night, it prohibits your sleep as you lay awake all night thinking of what needs to change and how to change it. I don't need to be phsyco annalized, I just asked for some positive sugesstions to help cause I am literally terrified of ever going back to the person I once was.
It was a very long hard process that cost a hugh amount of money in days off without pay and travel expenses for me to be able to even have the gastric sleeve surgery done. I have worked very hard to lose the weight as it was only a tool for me and not a quick fix like some would like to call it. At 4 years out it's scarey to think that for 1, I am able to gain weight now and for 2, my body is comfortable when I am not. I'm sure if you talk to others that are as far out as I am that they would have some of the same concerns that I have. If there were therapist specialized in this field where I lived it might be worth some chatting and maybe insite to new sugestion but seeing as there isn't this board is the next best thing. I have been using it for 5+ years and have always had very positive feel back and I hope that will continue to be the case.
