I had surgery on 7/30! I also had my gallbladder removed and a hernia repair as well as the sleeve.... I was 240 when I went in for surgery, and now I am 247! Very frustrating... Hope this is due to swelling... Getting all my liquids in!!! Please help me understand!!

Haven't had surgery yet but from what I have read and heard you are swollen from IV fluids and the inflammation from the trauma of surgery.  My surgeon recommended not weighting till I came in to my post op appt at 2 weeks.   Hope that helps

Hush-puppie---all due to the iv's... I went into surgery and came home with 18#'s water... took two weeks to come off.  Don't worry.. this, too, shall pass.

This is very common... lots of people gain weight after surgery due to swelling and all the IV fluids. Not to worry! It would be pretty hard for you to actually gain weight right now. Congrats on your surgery!

check out my blog!

It's from the trauma.  You didn't JUST get a sleeve, you got your innerds reworked so give it time!

Remember this feeling and how you dealt with it if you hit that famous "week 3" weight loss stall I've been reading out.

And get your protein in!  Sip sip sip!

Are you walking every day?  I put a timer on my phone and walk my neighborhood for 30 minutes a day.....the weight is coming off!  (7/24 surgery date)

Slow and steady wins the race!

I had surgery on the 29th and came home 10 lbs more than when I left. The nurse said it was just fluid. It was all finally gone this morning.  Iknow I'm weighing myself too often (pretty much every time I go in the bathroom) but is encouraging to see the number drop even by an ounce.

, Stay away from the scale!!! I gained weight in the hospital too! It comes off, just get your protein and fluids in, it will happen!  I'm a crapband hernia revision, so if I can lose, anyone can!  I was miserably pregnant looking for days!

Totally normal and a result of all the IV liquids you get pumped with.  I had to go to ER for a kidney stone and just got a single bag of fluids and gained 2 pounds :P

(Thanks to reading a lot of posts here, I knew this was going to happen, so I promised myself to not weigh for 2 weeks post-op.  I made it one week.  Heh.)

Thank you all for the feedback and support!! I have always been a strong self driven individual.  BUT this is out of my league and I think all of you that have been through this and are at you goal, approaching it, or just beginning, are amazing and so strong!  I went to Academy and walked with my kids and husband... Came home for about two hours and then braved Walmart in the ride around cart!! But I have been up and moving a lot! Have a pain when I'm trying to sip sip sip!! I am sure this is normal and shall pass also! Thank you all again for the motivation!! Yall ROCK!!
