I almost cried...

I'm 1 month post op today. I'm not sure yet if I made the right decision.  I'm nauseated a lot and I throw up at least once a day. Today was so extremely tough. My family is going camping in Yellowstone for the weekend and I did the grocery shopping tonight.  It was really hard and I almost cried right there in the middle of the store. I'm sure things will get easier but for now I'm really struggling.

Sorry you are struggling with this. I am 1 month post op and do not have these problems.I have yet to throw up since the surgery. Hang in there. Hope things will get better for you.

Are you taking medication for your nausea?  I'm only three and a half weeks out, so I really don't have any advice, but it doesn't seem normal that you're throwing up so often. What does your surgeon say?

Hang in there! Hopefully things will get better soon!

The nausea medicine doesn't really work for me.  My surgeon has ordered an endoscopy that hopefully will happen in the next week or two. Thanks for your kind words.

Remember that your not alone wyo-sarah. I'll be 5 wks on Monday and I've been crying daily. I'm still having some incision pain, horrible constipation, and I just don't feel the same. And I keep telling myself that it will get better but it's just the NOW that's hard. No matter how much research I did before surgery I just had no clue how hard this was going to be physically, mentally, and emotionally. We just gotta hang in there and hope for the best. Good luck

I can relate totally to your story! My life felt like it was no longer under my control when I was a month out and I felt it had been long enough! I am now 9 weeks out and am just feeling like I'm regaining control. I had a Lean Cuisine pizza today and it was so good! My point is it does get easier. I bought some sugar free peppermints and would suck on one when I felt nauseated. It seemed to help.

I'm so sorry you are struggling. Hang in there.  It does get better.  There will be a time down the road when you are going to have so much health and energy, that you'll be leading the way on your hikes thru Yellowstone.  The first few months are not fun.  But they are temporary.

best wishes,

Carol

Thanks everyone for your kind words. It is nice to have a place to talk. My husband is not really sympathetic at all.
