When it's all said and done how much can one eat in one sitting. I know the stomach is not as small as an egg but I need to know how much can the tummy hold. Thanks all in advance

I'm 3 months and 3 days out from VSG. In the beginning, liquid diet, it would take all day to get in my 64 oz of liquid whi*****luded my 2-3 protein shakes. After 10 days I was allowed regular/soft foods. It took an hour to eat 1/2 an egg. This has improved. I now measure 2 oz of dense protein (chicken/turkey burger patty). If it is something like yogurt I can do 4-5 oz. A turkey and bean chili, I can eat 3-4 oz.

You will get a lot of different answers to this question. Everyone's capacity is different. The density of the food will dictate how much one can eat. Some people allow 30 minutes to eat their food, while others eat until the food is finished. I allow myself an hour to eat my measured portion.

It depends on the food - for example, I just had breakfast - 4 nuggets from Chick-Fil-A, and I am COMPLETELY full. But I could easily eat two or three protein bars.

I could fit 1/4 cup of wet food like yogurt at about 4w post op.  Now at 8m post op I can fit about 1/2 cup of yogurt over a 20 minute timeframe.

Drier foods, the quantity is less.  I can eat about 3 bites of meat and I am pretty full.

Even now, 1 hard boiled egg is my limit in a 15 minute period.

I am 10 weeks out and can eat 1/2 cup of food with no problems (eating slowly and chewing thoroughly).  If I eat more than 1/2 cup then my tummy hurts to the point that I do not want to eat more than 1/2 cup.  For me, the pain of overeating has definitely been an incentive to keep the serving portions small.  I have lost 50 lbs. since June (12 lbs presurgery and 38 lbs post surgery).  Surgery was on 8/25/14.  It's the BEST thing I EVER did for myself and wish I had done it sooner!

I am three weeks out, and I can say about 3 ounces of a soup, 1-1/2 - 2 ounces of turkey for example, it depends on the food, I usually try not to exceed 1/4 of a cup per meal.

It will change sa time goes on.  Here is what I experienced:

The first few weeks post-op (I wasn't restricted to liquid only):  couldn't even eat a full egg, maybe got 1 oz. of protein in at a time

By 3-4 months post-op:  was getting 2 oz. of dense protein in at a meal

By 6-7 months post-op:  ws gettin 3 oz. of protein in at a meal

At 18 months post-op:  I can get 4 oz. of dense protein in and a tiny amount of veggies.  Volume wise it's about 1 c. of food for me.

I was sleeved June 25. Now, a little more than 4 months out, I can probably eat about 1/2 cup at a time. I've had a period where I didn't measure as much and now I'm going back to measuring as I think that that helps with accuracy.

I am a little over a month out. It depends on what I eat. I can eat 1/2 cup or a bit more than that of tuna, chicken or beef. I can eat a whole 5.3 oz Greek yogurt. I have tried to eat veggies after I eat my meat, but after a few baby spoonfuls, I am stuffed, so I am holding out on the veggies for a while.

I'm 8 months out and I measure my meals to be about 4 ounces.  Sometimes I eat as much as 6.  I've never eaten until I'm stuffed, so I don't know how much I actually -could- eat.
