How long did before you weighed yourself afer surgery.  I understand that there might be a gain in the beginning.  I don't want to be disappointed.

I promised myself that I wouldn't weigh myself until two weeks post-op.  I made it a week.  And I've weighed myself every morning that I've been home since then.  :)

I travelled for my surgery so I didn't have access to a scale until I arrived home 5 days later.  I was prepared that I may have gained but I was down 5 pounds.  I have weighed myself everyday since (unless I am traveling and don't have access to a scale).

If you are able to tolerate fluids then you sill see the scale moving.  Everyone is different.

Good luck with your surgery Monday.  Welcome to the loser's bench.

I weighed myself on the scale outside the room where I took the swallow test!!  Got the expected weight gain and have weighed everyday since...not always what I want it to say, but I focus on the overall...not the day-to-day!

5'5" 64 year old; HW 219; SW 199; CW 129; GW 145ish (original)...now on to "ideal" (138)...got that...now a few spare (132)...got that one, too! Now for the 120's!! Made them...now for the "dream" weight...125! Well, that one's proving to be a little tougher!

I weighed myself the day after I got home and gained Four pounds. I have a wifi scale that records my weight on a web site and then I can analyze the results over a period of time. I weigh myself daily at the same time. Since surgery it has initially shown about a 1 lb a day loss until I started with puréed and the rate dropped to a few tents a day. But I am going down.

I didn't get weighed until my four week follow up appointment. I stayed off my scale at home for the first six months and only weighed at the doctor's office. My surgeon doesn't believe in weighing people at their two week follow up, so I waited until my four week follow up.

Ever. Single. Day in the beginning. But the fluctuations drove me batty. So now once a week. This gives me a better big-picture view. Good luck.

I have obsessed with the scale and made the mistake of seeing a scale in the hospital. I weighed my self post-op day 2. And I've weighed myself daily (if not multiple times daily) since surgery.
