Just passed 2 months out

So I hit my 2 month mark the day before yesterday and I've been cleared for everything but most raw veggies, nuts and raw harder fruit.

I've been pretty stalled since I started eating solids at 4 weeks out and I've only lost about 7 lbs during the 2nd month. I'm very frustrated, especially since I've seen the weight loss in some parts of my body (arms, legs) but not much of anything in others (torso and bottom). Because of this, I see my face getting thinner and my clothes get looser on my arms and legs but because my torso isn't really changing much I'm only down 1 size in clothes. They're ill fitting because of the leg issue though lol.

My question is this: I'm weighing my food, never eating more than 3-4 oz each meal with protein being first of course. I'm trying to stick with sugar free popsicles when I get the munchy feeling because I have to "chew" them so it satisfies that need to be chewing on something. Preop I always snacked on raw veggies or fruit or nuts between meals when I'd feel snacky and since I can't have any of those things yet, what should I do? I drink tons of water, I'm taking a PPI but still feeling "snacky" between meals. Help? I don't wanna blow this! 7 lbs in the second month seems so low to me. How can I up it?

7 pounds in a month sounds awesome to me!  I'm also losing weight strangely - My top half looks a lot skinnier, but my hips are still HUGE.  I imagine that's the last place the weight will go away.  I look like a butternut squash.  Oh well :P  I still look (and feel) better than I did 120 pounds ago!

It sounds like you're dealing with head hunger more than anything and that's a psychological thing. Are you seeing a therapist?  That can really help with developing better coping techniques.  My plan is pretty strict about three meals a day with no snacks, so even when I could eat raw veggies snacking wasn't something to add to my new lifestyle.

So I work to distract myself.  This was something I was talking with my therapist about today, in fact.  There are some things I do that are linked with munching in my head and some things that aren't, so I try to focus on the things that don't have a munch association.  It helps - I'm working on forming new habits and new associations.

I know my butt and hips will start shrinking eventually, but, knowing my luck, it won't happen until I'm like a size 0 on top and still a size 16 on the bottom ;)

At least you won't be an apple with sticks sticking out the bottom!

I once had a bridesmaid dress that was a 14 on top and a 24 on the bottom!

Thank you for the response, Gwen. I do see a therapist, and she's a health nut freak so she tries to help me more so with healthy choices for the in between meals rather than trying to keep my mind off of it. She believes that eating small meals throughout the day is healthier for me than sticking to 3 meals with no snacks like my surgeon has recommended. I honestly have to say that I agree with her. But surgeon knows best, right?

I tried to convince myself that it was head hunger, but as I type this right now I feel my stomach growling. I can even hear it!! I don't think it's in my head. I'm so lost as to what to do at this point. My gut tells me (literally) to have 1-2 oz snacks between meals as long as they're protein packed and low or no carbs but I don't want to go against my surgeon.

In terms of how you should eat post-op, yeah, I'd go with my surgeon's recommendations instead of my therapist's.

You might need a stronger PPI.
