Just basically got told off by a 90 lb blond

Heads up... I'm a little (lot) irritated right now. Just started a new job about 6 weeks ago and tonight I was working with two girls I haven't worked with yet. Somehow weight came up in conversation and I casually mentioned that I had weight loss surgery 6 months ago, and that I've lost nearly 120 pounds. (Keep in mind I am not normally this open about it, unless I think it may be helpful to someone, and one of the girls I was working with seemed to be genuinely curious and is possibly looking into it herself)

well one of the girls (the one that is literally maybe 90lbs) went right up one side of me and down the other, talking about how she thinks if someone wants to lose weight they should just do it and just try. She seriously thought that they literally cut the fat off me. I explained that they simply made my stomach smaller so I can't eat much at one time and she like lost it on me and was saying that people like me take the easy way and how it's a waste of money to have a surgery like this because I could have just tried. Talking about how someone she knew had weight loss surgery and ended up looking nasty because she had loose skin and blah blah blah.

Ive literally never had anyone be so damn rude to me in my entire life. I wish I had defended myself, but I was so shocked by her rudeness I literally said nothing.

Ugh

I'd have been shocked too!  If it happens again, I'd suggest looking her in the eye and saying, "Wow, you're really rude."  :P

I would have told her I didn't ask for her approval and second of all none of her money was used to get my surgery so why  so who died and left her to condemn someone. She would have instantly got up and probably never spoke to me again.

If someone had the nerve to say something like that to my face I would've slapped the *****!  People like that need to learn to shut up because they have NO CLUE what they're talking about.  I have not experienced this kind of rudeness toward me (yet) but if I ever get a response like that you better believe I'll avenge you and every other person who has ever had this ignorance tossed their way by someone like that.  UGH!

Why wait for it to happen again to take it to HR?
