You know, I actually thought of that, I just wasn't sure how it would work!  Thanks!!

I work in a hospital, so I cut a 1/2" piece of oxygen tubing lengthwise to wrap around my ring to make it smaller. When that got too big, I bought a temporary "fill-in" ring for $14 that still looks pretty since I only want to resize my own once. That's getting too big now, but the limiting factor is finally my knuckle and not my fat finger, so I think I'll finally get my actual ring resized. I've gone from a 9.5 to a 6!

That is so funny because that is exactly the material I was considering using myself!  My grandmother-in-law has some unused from a time she had to use oxygen at home and that's why I thought of it.  That is awesome your finger shrunk so much!!

My husband is buying me a QALO silicone band to act as a placeholder, since my original ring cannot be resized since it's an eternity band. Once I hit goal we are planning to replace my wedding set anyways, so the silicone band will be a good alternative until then.

I bought a cheap fake one until i stabled out - but i still needed to size my ring twice!  I thought i was done, and then more came off.

Grab a pretty sterling silver band with swarovski crystals off overstock :)

One of my NSV was to wear my engagement ring again.  I've not been able to wear it for several years -- probably 50 pounds ago -- within a few weeks of surgery, I dropped 25 pounds. Most of it seems to have been from my hands, feet, ankles, arms and face. Last week, at my husband's request, I pulled out my ring and low and behold, it fit! It will be interesting to see what happens as I lose more weight. Will my hands get even smaller or will the weight come off the rest of me?

I hear ya.  My weight seems to becoming off of my boobs and my legs the most.  Yesterday I put on a pair of pants I haven't worn in 4 years!!  :D  We are awesome!

Hands will get smaller and believe it or not, you will be throwing out shoes too! My feet went down 1/2-1 full size depending on what type of shoe.

Go to any jewelry store. They have a little band that fits inside the ring and wraps around the sides. They work really well. Can't remember the price because it was years ago when I needed one ,but I remember they were cheap. Let them know you will be having it resized eventually at their  store, I think that's why they are so cheap.
