Wedding Rings?

I was normal-sized when I got married, so my ring was a normal-sized gold band. Then I got pregnant and kept those 50 extra pounds on for four years after my son was born. Since it didn't look like my weight was coming down any time soon, the ring was resized larger.

Then in my late 20s, I lost the weight, and the ring was resized back down. Wore the ring until well into my late 40s when weight gain made the ring so tight I had it resized back up, but as I continued to gain, eventually I took it off and kept it off. For Christmas a few years ago, my husband gave me a brand-new larger gold ring, which I wore until sleeve surgery this year.

Now I'm wearing my original ring again, but it's starting to get loose. When I reach goal, I'll have the poor thing downsized back to its original size when I got married. And I hope to heaven I'll never have to do it again! It's a wonder there's anything left of it.

Thanks for sharing this because that is my big concern - sizing and resizing again.  I worry about the integral structure.  I think I will just get a substitute ring until I get past the 2 year mark.... Then resize it.  :)  And never insult yourself with the word "normal."  ;)

I wrapped string around mine for awhile but it got yucky. Then I bought a cheapo fake ring a Target and that got me to when I had my ring re-sized. I only had about 10-15 more lbs. more to lose but my now smaller ring is a little too big. Wish I would have waited just a bit longer.

I have been using the clear plastic sizers I found at Walmart. I took a box cutter and cut it in half and that helps with the uncomfortable bulky feeling. They aren't ideal but aside from not wearing it or getting it resized I don't know what to do either.

I bought some ring guard sizers. They weren't big enough to fit my wedding band, but they work with my engagement ring, so I just put them on it and use it to keep the wedding band on. lol The guards are kind of annoying, but I'm with you on not wanting to resize until later.

Congratulations on your skinnier fingers. :)

I was just looking up ideas last night on this very topic.  My 2 rings are so loose that I have to do something.  I think I'm just going to re-size them since I'm halfway to my goal.  Then re-size them again once I get to goal if need be.

I went. To Walmart and got a plain $25 ring and put that on the outside of my ring. It holds it in place and I don't feel like  it is wasted money. Hubby definitely notices when I don't wear my ring, all my new hotness is a bit intimidating.

I will probably have to do it one more time before I am ready to resize
