Weird Taste in my mouth

One other thing to look out for is mouthwash. If you are using mouthwash because of the taste in your mouth, be sure you are using one that is not high in alcohol. He said that when you are not eating and drinking much, the alcohol will tend to dry out your mouth. That will keep the taste buds from exfoliating well. I started cleaning my tongue with a toothbrush. The taste disappeared quickly.

All very good responses.  I would like to add Biotene as a suggestion.  No alcohol, enzymes.  They have sprays you can put in your purse and tote.  I had this when I restarted my diet recently, and I think it may be the ketosis.  It's pretty well resolved itself.

Seconding the biotene! They make both mouthwash and toothpaste and they work wonderfully.

So glad you posted this as I have been having this same issue and was looking on the forum for an answer. I'm going to get the scraper today along with some mouthwash.  My surgery was Nov 17 and things are getting better but I must say when I try some foods they nauseate me.  Especially meats and I loved meat before.  I just hope that my taste comes back somewhat.

I don't know how your program works but for mine, I have to take Prilosec OTC once a day for 6 months.  I've been told my dry mouth is probably from that, as it is a side effect.  I only have issues with it at night, and I just make sure to keep a big bottle of water by the bed.
