Ooooh Click protein espresso... I forgot all about that one after I moved. I drank it for like a year (2012?). Hmm I should get some again hehe. One can never have too much protein anything.

Thank you. ^^

How far out from surgery are you? Why can't you get your protein from dense protein?

I drink coffee pretty much all day non stop to stay warm. I drink it black or with half and half. I get 110-130 grams of protein in a day just from dense protein.

At over 18 months, drinking my protein would offer me zero satisfaction. If I am going to spend the calories, I want some fullness to go with it.

Had surgery on 6/18/15; probably around the same time as you. As a single mom with a 2.5 hour daily commute, time is an issue for me. I have a premier protein for breakfast in the car, 1/2 a scrambled egg at 10am, a salad for lunch (sometimes with some protein on top), a Greek yogurt for snack, a protein bar in the car on the way to get the kids/take them to jujitsu (if there was no protein on my salad), and  stir-fry or pork or chicken + veggies for dinner (I love to cook, mostly Asian food).

My doctor's goal for me was 60-80 grams of protein a day. I've met his goal... but not my own. I want to lose 13 more pounds, but progress has been slow for the past year, since I took up wine again (!!). I look forward to my glass of wine each evening after the 90 minute commute home in DC traffic - so shoot me!!

After coming back to OH a few weeks ago, I've decided I need to increase my protein. I drink a large travel mug of coffee a day over the course of several hours, so that's an easy place to add it in. I find if I eat a protein bar, I gain weight, or get carb cravings, so I'm trying to cut them out completely.

I've been fat, and I've been thin - and thin is better.

There is a better way. --Alaine of Lyndar

I had surgery 7/15/2015

Grilled Chicken breast cut into strips becomes and easy finger food to eat, you can do the same with steak.

These protein brownies are my go to snack http://www.eatmeguiltfree.com/ I get the DIY powder and bake my own because I think the fresh baked ones taste better than the prepackaged, and I like baking. I make them on Sunday afternoons, put them in sandwich bags and I take one each day.

Long term I don't think drinking calories is a good idea. JMO

Another thing that I had to add since I started a 9-5 job are Quest Protein chips. They don't taste like chips, they are more like a Cracker but they are portable and offer some satisfaction and they are low in calories for the amount of protein. 130 a bag.

I go back and forth with the fullness thing. Some days I do seem to "need' that. Most though, i have to really think about how I am going to jam in protein so drinking it always the easiest option. My only issue is that I prefer to eat whole food, but I also am not a big meat eater so it becomes a little challenging. I drink coffee all day (decaf) and when I reach points where I just can't choke down another shake I switch to protein coffee for a while. I never have a problem drinking those because I am such a coffee junkie I will drink any sludge!

Presurgery I was a serious coffee drinker. After surgeryt I didn't really want to drink it any more. But I found the protein drinks to be kind of yucky so I started mixing them with coffee to kill the taste. I mix one chocolate and one vanilla pure protein shake in a large glass with plenty of ice. I then put in about 1/4 cup of cold brewed coffee. I buy mine at Trader Joe's but I have made it at home before when I was wanting to do decaf. I have never found decaf cold brew in a store. When I do the mixture, the protein drink is mostly tasteless which I like. I have used more coffee when I wanted more of an iced coffee type beverage.
