Hindsight...
Aug 14, 2012
So I attended my first nutrition class at the new (sleeve) surgeon's place. It was very informative, they used a group setting as opposed to the one on one appts I had with my previous Nut. I'm having to do these classes again to meet insur. requirements because when I got my paperwork from the original surgeon's ofc, I had 6 months with a dietitian/Nut, but we only met 4 times!I guess it could be worse- they could've made me start the whole program over-Bleehhk! So, after 1 more class next month, I will get to have the surgery. Oh & while I was waiting for this class to start, I got a phone call from DH telling me that my insurance had denied my surgery -citing that it was not medically necessary! This was actually a blessing in disguise as I still had not canceled my surgery date for the RNY. I did panic for about 1/2 a second before my wonderful new Psych doc assured me that I do qualify for WLS as deemed "medically necessary" and that their billing guy would handle everything -not to worry!
I so wish I had started this whole process here from the beginning...
