Hi Sarah, Thanks for the wonderful words of kindness and encourgement...I am terribly nervous, can't sleep, or eat (I guess that's a good thing) and it's reading posts from nice people like you that get me through the waiting stress. Where in Manassas do you live? I'm in the City, off Signal Hill Road. Thanks again, Martha Hundemer

Hi Sarah! I was just wondering how you were doing? I hope all your complications have passed and you are on your way to the end of this WLS journey.

hi all i have some sad news about sarah this evening her friend called me tonite to tell that she is back in the hospital but at least she is doing fairly well considering the circumstances. all last week she felt really weak and was very easily winded she chalked this up to being so newly post op. she called her drs office and they told her that if she didnt feel any better by week's end to call them back again well she made a few outings with her kids last week and each time she was only able to take a few steps (and this was with a daughter on each side of her to help support her) anyway on saturday nite she went to the er and they told her her oxygen level was down around 70% which isnt good so they put her back on oxygen and that made her feel a little better they also done an ultrasound on her leg in the area they put the veinous cavous filter pre surgery she doenst know the results from that yet they also done a few other tests on her and found 3 blood clots in her lungs they are now treating her for those with heparin and another drug in tablet form but i cant remember the name of that one. she will have to take those pills for the next 6 months at least. i will call her again in the am and come back here to post on her again before i go to work sarah sends her thanks for all the prayers and kind thoughts for her from all her friends on the site and wishes to have those continue til she is out of danger. she also told me that she is questioning her sanity to have done this surgery but i think that once she gets this little setback under control everything will b fine and she will b so glad she done it if anyone would like to contact sarah you may do so by calling the potomac hospital in woodbridge va at (703)670-1313 and ask for room 438-b again thanks for all the kind wishes and thoughtful prayers extended by you all. sheila braswell

I just talked to Sarah. She sounds much better tonight. She hasn't been up very much and is really ready to get the tubes out. She hasn't had any liquids yet either. Last night she vomited some blood so she had x-rays today. They have put a line in her neck in case they need to give her some blood. She'll know more tomorrow and hopes to go home by Saturday. Keep her in your prayers.

hi all im back again and im so sorry i havent posted anything today but i have been super busy.i talked with sarah this morning and she is a little better (but in her words not a measurable bit better) she still had not had anything to drink and was thirsty.her back is still bothering her but they have put her in a room now. if anyone would like to contact her here is the info she is at the virginia commonwealth university hospital ( main hosp) in room 414A on the 10th floor west wing. the phone number there is (804)649-5156 that number takes you directly to her room she is still tired and worn out from the surgery so it may b a good idea to keep all calls short even so i think she would love to hear from all of her "sisters" goodnite all and im praying for all of my "sisters" love ya all

I just talked to Sarah. She is in a room tonight. She sounds weak but she said the pain meds are working. She has sat up and stood up today. Maybe walking will come tomorrow. I had called once and her daughter answered so I know the girls got to come see her this afternoon. The surgery was far more complicated than expected.
