After my weight regain after my VSG 5 years ago I am having a revision to a duodenal switch. My revision was Aug 8, 2016. This is not just a journey. I'm fighting for my life.

I have been overweight all of my life. My great grandmother and I loved cake and ice cream before bed time. That is my fondest memory of her. I never really knew what an "average portion size" of food was. I always ate what was on my plate because "You shouldn't play with your food. There are starving people that would die to have it" I have tried many different weight loss programs to no avail. The closest I got was when I stayed on the Atkins diet in 2006 for a year, worked out hard in the gym and lost an amazing 60 pounds. I felt out of this world at 220 pounds.(That was a lot to me coming down from 280 pounds) Well as time moved on which included, asthma problems, and a motorcycle accident, I slowly put it all back on and tacked on 15 extra just for good measure.  My mother was banded a year ago last December. Her progress has been slow and she said if her doctor had offered VSG back then she would have done that instead.  I am going to travel back to my hometown in Virginia to have my VSG done July 18 by my mothers doctor who now offers VSG. I truley have been blessed.
