You know how kindergarten is supposed to open a world of new knowledge for little minds? Well, I got that kind of knowledge back in 82, but I also got the knowledge that I am fat. Yes, I still remember being told that I was fat in kindergarten. That is really great, huh? Well, that is my life. My parents are fat, my grandmas were/are fat, and I am fat too. In fact I am borderline morbid obesity at the moment. In my teenage/adult life I have been on a gazzillion diets (yes, gazzillion is in my dictionary)---I am sure just like most of everyone reading this. Weight watchers helped me to get down to 165ish, but a pregnancy got me back up again. Since that pregnany I have gained and lost 60 to 20 pounds probably 5 or 6 times in the past 5 1/2 years.
I am self pay (insurance through Walmart stinks===so does teacher insurance), so I am going to Mexico IF I can get the loan. I choose Dr. A b/c of all the great comments about him and he is closer to my home than other places in MX. I had thought to get lap band, but after talking to Susan, reading others' posts and some thought, I think I am going with the VSG. I applied for credit earlier today, and I am sure that I will hear something Tuesday--b/c it is after Labor Day.
I have lots of questions, but I am sure that if I get the money and get scheduled that Susan and Dr. A. will answer most of the questions with their pre-op and all.
I haven't figured out how to get a picture in my profile yet, but I do have a few in my albums.
Thanks for reading. Leave me messages or be my friend! Looking for Southern friends, Dr. A's patients, teachers and VSGers!
