24 /or 2 years out Happy Rebirth to me!!!!! I am still 184 pounds!

December 30, 2006

Well it has been two and a half years.  My weight is pretty much stable; I weigh between 185-190 lbs.  I wear a size12 (most of the time).  I exercise at least three times a week and eat pretty well.  2-3 veggies, 2-2 fruits, at least 60 grams of protein, 2-3 servings of dairy (yogurt and cottage cheese) and I take my vitamins, this is my usual regimen.  However, I do have my bad days.  I am finding it easy, with the above plan to maintain my weight.  What I mean is that it does not feel like work.  But, when I attempt to get under that 185, it is work.  I actually feel like I am on a diet, and it drive me crazy.  I would like to weigh 150-155 lbs., so I would roughly like to loose about 30 more pounds, if I get there great, if not I am just fine.

I would like reconstructive surgery.  I need a tummy tuck and a lower body lift.  Goodness, my thighs are pretty ugly.  I figure with the reconstructive surgery, I could drop another 10-15lbs.  So hey, I just might make my goal weight.  Nonetheless, I find that as time goes by, I am less caught up with the numbers; I actually make it more than a day or so without weighing in!!!!!

Good luck, and god bless those of you who are starting their journey.

Oh wow, happy early anniversary to me! It has been 14 years since I had wls! Starting weight 315, and today I am smaller than my lowest weight, 174 lbs. Yay me!

Do I work at it? That would.be a resounding Hell Yes! Would I do this journey again? That would be resounding Hell Yes too!

I remember going to a support group early post op, and a lady on the panel made the statement that she does not do a whole lot of things differently, and she tries to act as "normal" as possible!

Well, my response every year after listening to her words would be, " but we are different...We are not normal, we have permanently altered our system through surgery in an effort to gain control of our health"! I work my tool everyday, it is manageable, but still requires work! I take my vitamins, I exercise 4-5 days a week, and I eat sensible! I can eat more these days, I can and have gained weight, especially when I go toolong acting like I am "normal"! :-)
