Kris Shewmake
"I was so impressed with Dr. Shewmake. I choose this surgeon based on his credentials and professional reputation. He was named one of little rocks top surgeons, he graduated from a "solid" medical school (did I mention we attended the same undergraduate (Hendrix College). Years of experience and professional interest beyond medical school has also been exceptional. What I did not bargain for or actually expect, was his bedside manners. This man exudes genuine care, concern, and warmth. Before surgery I was feeling really nervous, he came in and went over the standard medical information: what to expect, did the cosmetic markings, and answered questions. Then he did the unexpected, he asked if we wanted to pray, that was the moment that I felt at total peace. As a patient, thank god I found this man. He was a good fit for me, as a professional and practitioner myself, I strive to always see my clients as people, as individuals, as Dr. Shewmake saw me. "

"I enjoyed my stay. The only negative thing was that I thought I would be on the 6th floor where gastric bypass patients usually go. Perhaps the floor was full or something. So I was on the 3rd floor where the staff was not as experienced in dealing with gastric bypass patients. No one, I mean no one came and got me up to walk or anything. Thank god I knew I was suppose to walk and I did. Nonetheless, the staff was very nice about helping get all hooked by up after my all of my walking, and I did a lot of walking too!"
